BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear
This project seeks to design a collection that pays homage to diamond miners. It takes inspiration from both historical and contemporary examples of dress worn by this worker. This work refers to the worker and is analyzed in three ways, which relate to the terms âDifficultyâ, âDirtâ and âDangerâ. It is all about strong woman, grunge style and street looks, as models appeared in slouchy, denim fabric garments, including deconstructive jackets, functional jumpsuits and shift dress. These works pursue comfortable, protective, and functional elements.
