âBrave New Worldâ is a utilitarian collection built for a generation of young people angry at the desolate future they have inherited, yearning for change, struggling to find a way to be heard. The city is their canvas, whether in pen, paint or fire, the markings left behind tell a story of that everyday struggle. Combining function and protection whilst maintaining a stylish aesthetic is the fundamental synthesis of the brand; survival of the fittest is the rule of the streets and high performance is paramount. Functionality is considered on every layer; boxers are made from silk, a material tried and tested on the battlefield to aid groin protection. Utilitarian fabrics make items waterproof, windproof and bulletproof, while adorned with thoroughly considered pockets, visible and hidden, each suited to a specific function. Military wear is a huge influence on the functionality of this collection: modular, functional clothing with webbing, pockets and zips. Webbing is used as a functional embellishment throughout the range. A bullet proof jacket is the core piece of the collection, designed to be worn under the coats and jackets or on its own. Ballistic panels are made from a material at the forefront of ballistic protection, known as spectra shield, it has a 40% higher strength to weight ratio than Kevlar and is considerably lighter. Material manufactures, Honeywell, generously sponsored the development of this garment. Other achievements of the designer, Lisa O, include her debut as a competitor in the British Fashion Council 2014 Graduate Preview Day. Alongside considerable press exposure as one of a collection of leading graduates of her University, The London College of Fashion, her work has been included in both the moving annual and printed annual showcasing the best work of 2014 graduates. _______________________________________________ Bullet Proof Jacket Sponsored by Honeywell: http://www.honeywell.com/ Photography by Henry Gorse: studio@henrygorse.co.uk
