FdA Cordwainers Fashion Accessory Design
The Global Commuter collection was inspired by Craig Green, a designer at London Fashion Week who, on his models, used painted abstract raw bits of headwear with black clothes. This combination of the natural and the mundane in a stylized setting led into the idea of global camouflage. Influences came also from Shaun Samson, Hussein Chalayan, Smythsons, Lanvin, Raf Simons, and Stone Island brand, particularly for their use of performance materials. Other visual research influences include the Prada nylon range (in particular, their fabrics) and Smythsons travel wallets. It is designed for Spring/Summer 2014 and is an accessory a Global Commuter might use. It would be part of the lifestyle of those who use international travel in their day-to-day existence. Its main use is a cross-body bag for lightweight daily travel. It also has a packable daypack combined with the cross-body to allow for extra space. I have gained fashion accessories design experience in London and New York. I also have a BA Hons in Product Design from Central St Martin. I would be happy to show you my full portfolio, or send you my CV. Please get in touch! Email: mail@alexmorton.co.uk Blog: www.mistermorton.com
